CES 2023: Automotive LiDAR and 3D cameras take center stage

CES 2023 (January 5-8, Las Vegas) was marked by LiDAR announcements from Innoviz, Hesai and Orbbec's 3D cameras.

CES 2023 was rich in 3D scanning announcements. Innoviz presented the Innoviz360, a 360-degree LiDAR with 1,280 scan lines and 300m range for automotive. Hesai unveiled the FT120, an ultra-compact solid-state LiDAR for vehicle integration. Orbbec launched its Gemini 2 and Astra 2 3D cameras, designed for robotics and surveillance. These technologies, originally developed for automotive, are finding increasing applications in surveying, BIM and industrial inspection.
